The new ticketing system in Rauma's public transportation focuses on usability. In the design work, the goal was to ensure that the system is user-friendly for both passengers and drivers.
The requirement was for an identification-based ticketing system with sales points on board the vehicles. Additionally, an important feature was to have a contactless payment solution, where a payment card serves as the ticket.
In addition to a new and distinctive name, the public transportation system underwent various reforms. In Rauma, the goal was to significantly raise the standard of public transportation, and the city council decided to opt for the highest available service level. This enabled the development work to be tailored to the needs of users and drivers.
"We wanted to execute the project quickly, which led to a sense of urgency. However, with Pusatec, we quickly put together the package and managed the training sessions," explained Paasikivi. Pusatec continues to collaborate closely as needed even after implementation. The development work with Gyyt also proved fruitful when the system was put to a real test.
